Golden shoes

The Golden Shoes
------------------
By Pedro (www.sjlibrary.org)
"The other day, I was thinking about my mother. I haven’t spoken to her in a longtime. When I was talking to someone about a pair of shoes, it reminded me of the time when I was nine years old. I told her that my friends at school were making fun of her because of the holes in her shoes. I asked her why she hadn’t bought any new shoes. Her response to me was she would buy a pair of shoes for us instead of herself. I promised her one day when I would be older that I would buy her a pair of golden shoes that would never get holes".
